Classification of antimicrobial agents for textiles
Release time:2019-11-21

Antimicrobial agents so many, that in the end can be used in the textile antimicrobial agents have what? In this paper, Shanghai Jingan will introduce the classification of antibacterial agents for textiles.

Natural antimicrobial agent

Natural antimicrobial agents also known as biological antimicrobial agents, its sources mainly come from nature, from animals and plants and ore extraction, purification of antimicrobial part of the system. At present, the development of natural antibacterial agents has been staying at the traditional level, but due to the development of environmental protection concept and the improvement of scientific research level in recent years, the development of natural antibacterial agents has been greatly developed.

Commonly used natural antimicrobial agents include chitosan, cinnamon oil, allicin, aeroglucoside and plant extracts such as cypress chinensis, artemisia artemisia, aloe vera, peppermint, artemisia artemisia, bamboo mongolica, etc. Chitosan is the most widely used natural antimicrobial agent at present. In the early 1980s, Allan proposed the safe and broad spectrum of chitosan antibacterial activity. It has been proposed that quaternary ammonium salt derivatives of chitosan as antibacterial components of cellulose fiber, its antibacterial effect is more obvious than that of single use, and the dosage is less. Because the materials used in natural antimicrobial agents are all from nature, their production, processing and use in the process of biocompatibility is small, less pollution to the environment, belongs to a green antimicrobial agent. However, due to the poor heat resistance of natural antimicrobial agents, they will be carbonized and decomposed at the temperature of 160~180°C, thus narrowing their application range.

Inorganic antibacterial agents

Inorganic antibacterial agents are mainly divided into three categories in their antibacterial components: one is the inorganic antibacterial agents containing metal ion materials, such as Ag, Cu, Fe, Zn, etc.; Second, inorganic antibacterial agents containing photocatalytic function, such as TiO2, ZnO2, etc.; The last one is metal oxides containing antibacterial properties, such as Ago, CuO, ZnO, etc.

The composition of inorganic antibacterial agent is mainly divided into two parts, and antibacterial components and carrier components. The carrier part of the antibacterial agent has no antibacterial effect, and its purpose is to ensure the stability of the antibacterial component activity, and has a certain function of slow release. Compared with other antimicrobial agents, inorganic antimicrobial agents have the following characteristics: high safety, slow release and antimicrobial persistence, and good broad spectrum antimicrobial properties. In terms of metal ion materials, it mainly integrates Ag, Cu, Fe and other metals or metal ions in porous materials such as cinnamon gum and zeolite to make antibacterial agents.

Organic antibacterial agents

In the current market of antimicrobial agents, organic antimicrobial agents still occupy the leading position in the market due to the early start of related research and mature preparation technology. However, the development of organic antimicrobial agents is mainly concentrated in Europe and the United States, and China is relatively backward.

Organic antibacterial agents mainly include quaternary amine salts, guanidine, organic acids, cool, alcohols, ethers, pyridines, thiazolides, nitriles, pyridines and so on. With as many as hundreds of varieties of inorganic antibacterial agent, but only dozens of common, according to the different use function can also be divided into antibacterial agent, preservative, fungicide, etc organic antibacterial mechanism of antibacterial agent is the present is generally believed that organic molecular chain of positive charge with the negative charge on the bacterial cell membrane reaction, so as to destroy the cell membrane protein and cell membrane, in order to achieve the purpose of sterilization. Organic antibacterial agents have the characteristics of strong antibacterial effect, rapid, wide antibacterial spectrum and so on. But its disadvantage is the persistence of poor antibacterial, easy to produce drug resistance, high temperature resistance is poor, long-term use will produce dissolution, precipitation and other phenomena.
