Selection and dosage of common mildew inhibitor in feed
Release time:2019-12-02

Fungicides for feed are feed additives that can reduce the number of microorganisms in feed, control the metabolism and growth of microorganisms, inhibit the generation of mycotoxins, prevent the loss of nutrients in feed storage period, prevent mildew deterioration of feed and extend the storage time.

Commonly used anti-mildew agents are mostly small molecular organic acids or organic acid salts, and the anti-mildew mechanism is basically the same. They all rely on the micro-acid environment of feed, and the volatile organic acids play a broad spectrum of permeable membrane killing and inhibiting effect on mold.

Shanghai YiKe Lin Technology Co., Ltd. will give you the current feed commonly used types of mildew inhibitors are mainly the following:

1. Sodium diacetate: it mainly depends on the decomposition of molecular acetic acid to play an antibacterial role, and it has a good inhibition ability to bacteria and mold. The inhibitory effect of Trichoderma virifolia on Aspergillus Niger, Rhizopus Niger, Aspergillus flavus and Trichoderma virifolia was better than potassium sorbate. Sodium diacetate is an unspecified ADI substance and is designated as GRAS substance by FDA. Adding 0.1-0.3% SDA in the compound feed can keep the feed fresh for 3-5 months.

2, benzoic acid and sodium benzoate: benzoic acid and sodium benzoate can non-selectively inhibit the activity of microbial cell respiration enzymes, so that the metabolism of microorganisms by obstacles, so as to effectively inhibit the growth and reproduction of a variety of microorganisms, and the growth and reproduction of animals have no adverse effects. Sodium benzoate is mainly used in the feed, the general dosage is not more than 0.1%.

3, propionic acid and its salts: propionic acid is a corrosive organic acid, colorless and transparent liquid, soluble in water. Propionate includes sodium propionate, calcium propionate, potassium propionate, and ammonium propionate. Propionic acid and propionate are acidic mildew inhibitors with a wide antibacterial spectrum, and have certain inhibitory effect on molds, fungi, yeast and so on. Its toxicity is very low, and it is the intermediate product of normal metabolism of animals. It can be used by all kinds of animals, and it is a kind of mildew inhibitor commonly used in feed.

4. Fumarate and its esters: Fumarate esters include dimethyl Fumarate, diethyl Fumarate and dibutyl Fumarate, etc., among which the better mildewproof effect is dimethyl Fumarate. Fumaric acid and its esters are also acid mildew inhibitors, with a wide antibacterial spectrum, and can improve the taste of feed and improve the utilization rate of feed, the general usage is about 0.2%.

5. Dehydroacetic acid: Dehydroacetic acid is a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, which has a strong inhibitory effect on the development of bacteria, mold and yeast, especially on mold. It has a certain antibacterial effect under the conditions of acid and alkali. Dehydroacetic acid is a kind of low toxicity anti-mildew agent, generally has no adverse effects, the dosage is about 0.05%.

6, para-hydroxybenzoic acid ester: on mold, yeast effect is strong, para-hydroxybenzoic acid ester and starch coexistence will affect its effect, should pay attention to when using.

7, compound type mildew inhibitor: refers to the combination of two or more than two different mildew inhibitors, such as the United States is produced by propionic acid, acetic acid, benzoic acid, sorbic acid and other mixed. Compound mildew inhibitor has wide antibacterial spectrum, wide application range, good mildew proof effect, small dosage and easy to use. It is a commonly used variety of mildew inhibitor in feed.

Matters needing attention

1, according to the actual situation such as water content flexible use of mildew inhibitor: there are many factors that affect the effect of mildew inhibitor, such as the solubility of mildew inhibitor, pH of feed environment, water content, temperature, sugar and salt content in feed, feed pollution degree, etc. But the use of mildew inhibitors in feed is mainly based on the season and water content to decide whether to use and dosage. Therefore, in autumn and winter and other dry and cool seasons, feed moisture below 11%, generally do not need to use or can use less antimildew agent; When the moisture is more than 12%, mildew inhibitor should be used, and the amount of mildew inhibitor should be increased in the high moisture and high temperature and humidity season, so as to ensure a better mildew proof effect. Mildewproof is an important link of feed insurance, must not listen to the special mildewproof effect of some products, can not reduce the dosage of mildewproof agent, in order to prevent accidents.

2. Combinative use of mildew inhibitor and antioxidant: the mildew process of feed is also accompanied by the oxidation process of nutrients in feed. General mildew inhibitor should be used together with antioxidants to form a complete mildew proof and antioxidant system, so as to effectively guarantee and extend the storage period.
